Chet Catallo

Chet Catallo (born March 11, 1953) is an American jazz, smooth jazz, jazz fusion, blues, pop, and rock guitarist. He is best known for his softer style of jazz fusion as performed with the group Spyro Gyra,〔Coelho, V. (Ed.). (2003). ''The Cambridge companion to the guitar''. Cambridge University Press.〕 from 1978 through 1986.
Catallo currently performs session recordings for a variety of artists and genre as well as his own band, Chet Catallo and the Cats. He lives in Rochester, New York.
==Music career==
In 1978, Catallo joined the group Spyro Gyra while they were recording the (''Morning Dance'' ) album. This record featured Chet’s composition “It Doesn't Matter”. During the years Chet was with Spyro Gyra the band earned six Grammy nominations. Chet composed and performed the songs ''Loving You'' (from the record Catch the Sun) and ''Cafe Amore'' (from the record Carnaval). In 1986 Chet formed the band Chet Catallo and the Cats. The band released the record “First Take” in 2010.
